Under no circumstances should an expelled or suspended student not be allowed to at least submit course work during any term of expulsion. Inducing a student’s failure is not an adequate course of reprimand for any behavior. Even if a student commits a crime and is detained in a juvenile facility, they should be required to complete course work. Education juxtapose reprimand is the best solution. If anything reprimand should entail additional course work, which would encourage students’ social development and maturity.
