Year-round school as an option would enable primary and secondary school students to attend school during summer as well as the traditional school year to either participate in course recovery for the purpose of curtailing failure/retention, to complete course work in advance of succeeding school terms/years, and/or to complete specialty courses or participate in dual enrollment programs offered via their respective schools. Students could also participate in school/campus-based instructional sports camps juxtapose participation in said courses.

Year-Round school as an option for interested students/parents would provide constructive havens for students during the summer months, when most are deprived of such opportunity.

It would also present students with the opportunity to graduate earlier from high school and to, accordingly, matriculate into and graduate from college earlier, while availing employment opportunities for school staff who do not traditionally work during the summer.
