I’ve visited a number of classrooms where students are disbursed and rendered in some instances less than five to ten minutes on assignments that, by design, require double or more the allotted time to reasonably complete.

Student assignments should always be properly spanned to allow students a reasonable amount of completion time, particularly if those assignments are fated for grading.

Course material contrivers should get into the habit of articulating on relevant assignments or work sheets the amount of time that it should take for students to complete them, and/or instructors should make this determination and ration the necessary periods of time into the relevant class day, or allow students to complete the assignments at other times.

Assuring that students have the proper amount of time to complete especially assignments that will be graded is only fair and vital to student academic success.
