There are many advantages to working and attending school online, like saving time and gas, etc. on commutes, being able to carry and retrieve children from school with ease (or without concern for a traditional work schedule, the distance of an employer, and lack of childcare), and avoiding school and/or workplace bullies, et cetera, et cetera…

There are also some disadvantages to working and/or attending school online, like social isolation and lack of exercise, though online workers and students can exercise at home, with or without equipment (i.e. walking and other extracurricular activities), though acquiring and sustaining the motivation to do so is another matter…

Online students and workers should be privileged to join niche networks via which they could participate in local personal and professional development seminars, company dinners, etc.

Online students and workers should also be privileged to special, discounted group health club memberships and Physical Education/exercising classes that would be administered at designated health clubs/gyms, community centers, etc…

Online Physical Education Courses for Online Students

All online schools and/or schools that offer online options should offer Physical Education (P.E.) courses for online students, which could consist of videos that would be accessible on the instructional website of each relevant online school.

Online students could additionally utilize, and perhaps be required to utilize, FitBit technology (wristbands) for the recording/monitoring and assessment of their activities by Phys. Ed. staff at their respective online schools.

As previously noted, Physical Education for online students could also consist of congregated online students meeting at designated gyms/health clubs or community centers where they could exercise together as classes.

Congregated P.E. for online students could occur each school day and/or however many days students would elect, as long as they demonstrate that they are exercising each school day that they are enrolled in Physical Education courses, or at least the minimum number of days that it would be acceptable…

In Summation

Physical Education/exercise and socialization is just as vital for online students and workers as it is for traditional students and workers. In fact, and because online students and workers are typically less physically active and social than traditional students and workers, Physical Education and networking is more crucial for these particular groups, who should definitely be privileged to work and attend school, where the option of online/flexible learning and working enables them to do so.
