Bringing Higher Education to Every School Zone

Many students do not attend college or acquire any form of higher education simply because they or their parents can’t afford the daily commute to their choice college, and/or the thought of regularly catching a city bus, even with a student-discounted daily, weekly, or monthly bus card isn’t very appealing to the majority of should-be college prospects. Additionally, not every student is comfortable with the idea of living on campus, even if there is availability. Unfortunately, there are no zoned colleges for every community like there are public schools, and if there were, every eligible prospect would not choose to attend them, though many if not most likely would, especially if it were compelled.

Higher education facilities in every school zone would vary from zone to zone. In certain instances, they might be actual traditional colleges and/or technical schools; in other instances they might be computer labs—stand alone or located within designated rooms in local high schools and/or public libraries— via which students could attend (remotely) any college that they would desire to attend and/or they’d be a combination of both. They should all offer GED or HiSET prep classes for those needing them.

Zone colleges and/or college connection centers could be creative in their representation of designated or select colleges, universities, and/or technical schools. For instance, they could fly each represented college’s flag or place each college’s logo and/or other paraphernalia throughout their campuses.

Shuttles for Campus Time at Local Colleges

College connection centers should provide shuttle services to and from local colleges, meaning that any or every student in the school zone and/or who is attending either of the colleges represented at their college connection center would be uniformly transported to and from local colleges in which they are enrolled. Students should be capable of riding the shuttles to and from college every school day if they wish, or whenever they wish, if they are otherwise attending remotely.


I am personally determined to get both of my children enrolled and graduated from college if I have to personally carry them to and from each school day. Many particularly indigent should-be college students do not attend or finish because of challenges commuting to and from campus, and this simply should not be. Bringing higher education and/or college shuttles to every school zone would resolve this issue and transform society to an extent that it has never before realized by magnanimously increasing the likelihood of every person completing higher education and achieving their greatest potential.


Printing Social Security Cards on the Spot Would Save the Government Millions of Dollars

Social Security cards should be printed on the spot, considering the substantial postal costs that the government accrues for mailing them to every applicant, and considering additionally the varied merited circumstances when applicants need them instantaneously, i.e. to complete employment processes. The only persons who should be receiving Social Security cards by mail are those who apply online* and/or who print and mail applications for them. *It should be possible to actually apply for a Social Security card online (not merely print the applications for them).

Printing Social Security cards on the spot would too significantly curtail identity theft that is synonymous with mail theft, particularly where mailing to unsecured mailboxes is concerned.

I previously discussed the need for making all mailboxes lockable (and the need for legislation requiring it) and how this is practical without postmen having to carry tons of keys for every mailbox.

If and when every mailbox is lockable, mailing Social Security cards to those who walk in to their nearest Social Security office would yet be imprudent. All Social Security offices have printers; they utilize them to print receipts for Social Security card replacement and other applications.

The same and/or other appropriate printers should be placed in each Social Security office for the purpose of instantaneously printing Social Security cards or eliminating the wait for them…

Scanners, Which Should Supersede Fax Machines, Should Be Available in All Public Libraries

All public libraries should have and make scanners available for public use, particularly for the purpose of facilitating online application processes that require uploading of verification documents. No one should have to drive out of their own neighborhood to scan a document if they happen not to have a scanner or are experiencing any issues with a scanner that they own or have access to. The emailing of scanned documents should supersede or substantially replace the practice of faxing documents, which requires receivers to print subject documentation.

Imagine how many costly ink cartridges and paper this would save every day. It would further curtail need for a vast sect of the population to drive to and from varied public service agencies to submit essential documentation in person, making a venture of the sort environmentally friendly.

It would additionally reduce vehicular traffic and risks of accidents, if public service agencies place their application processes online, and if they and other entities that require transmission of documents via fax or traditional mail, if not in person, would accept scanned documents via electronic mail (email).

This, and making scanners available for use at public service agencies like the Department of Human Services (DHS), schools (during registration processes), etc., would eliminate a lot of red tape or government bureaucracy and costs of relevance to photocopying and/or transmitting documents via traditional means…

My Blogs are Translatable into More than a Hundred Different Languages

It is possible to translate this (my Education, Business, & Social Innovation blog) into more than a hundred different languages by scrolling to the very bottom of the page and clicking the “Select Language” feature. It is possible to translate my Workforce Solutions blog into the same 103 languages via the Google Translate feature in its lower right widget area. Presumably, all websites and blogs are automatically translated into the primary language of search locality (or they should be), and persons residing in any particular country or region who speak languages other than the primary language are required to manually translate them…

In any event, I’m ecstatic to know that the world—or at least the Philippines, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Dominican Republic, South Africa, Ireland, Italy, and Ethiopia (via WordPress), and Russia, Brazil, Ireland, Malaysia, Germany, France, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, and the United Arab Emirates (via Blogger) juxtapose the United States on both sites—is actually reading and, hopefully, enjoying and making good of my work. I created this blog hoping that every national leader and every other politician on the planet would read and lobby for those ideas of mine that require congressional action. Why All Colleges Should Avail Students Retroactive Internship Award Opportunities

Collegiate students who have completed a majority of their degree programs and/or who are not enrolled or registered in courses during the summer or any given term for either of a number of reasons, i.e. they are experiencing challenges acquiring tuition money and/or they just want to fully indulge in the pragmatic learning experience, should be capable of completing and acquiring credit for internships. The chief benefit of retroactive internship credit is that it would give students the opportunity to make constructive use of those periods that they are not enrolled in school, particularly when it is due to reasons beyond their control. When they are capable of returning to school, they’d have less course credit to acquire.

To apply retroactive credit for already completed internships, students would register for an internship during a succeeding term. Students would be asked during the online registration process and/or via any paper form that they must complete to specify if they are applying for retroactive internship credit; and said internships would be verified, of course. Another benefit of retroactively awarded internship credit or students not having to pay for internship credit until they are actively enrolled and taking other classes is that the retro internship credit would be paid for under the umbrella of registration and other fees* for those classes, and, again, the students could fully indulge in the experience without having to take any other classes.

*Paying registration and other fees for a single course or internship, for those who would want to exclusively enroll in an internship, would be imprudent. Additionally, there are no guarantees that those who apply will be definitively awarded co-ops or cooperative education opportunities (6-week on-the-job-training-for college credit programs).

Students who are not actively enrolled in classes are the best candidates for internships (which, are usually always obtainable), because they do not have to worry about scheduling them around their classes, which could be especially challenging for those participating in unpaid internships, especially if they have regular jobs. Unenrolled students should readily grasp their schools’ concern—Retroactive internships should be one of varied elements in every college, university, and technical school’s push to increase their student retention and graduation rates, and each should have a vested interest in all of their students graduating and entering their choice careers fully prepared…

Multiple Pandora Profile Creation on DirecTV and other Cable, etc.


It is now possible to listen to Pandora via DirecTV and likely other cable providers, and I simply love it, with the exception of the fact that my children have added multiple stations to my Pandora account and their activity is likely showing up on my public Pandora profile. DirecTV and other cable providers should enable a multiple profile creation/selection feature for residential and commercial accounts, considering that multiple individuals are typically utilizing the services.

Each profile owner should be capable of readily logging into and saving stations they listen to in their own personal accounts or via their own profile, which could retain each individual’s email address.

Another option would be for cable account holders to create email accounts that would be utilized exclusively for DirecTV and other cable Pandora accounts, or to utilize email accounts that cable service providers issue to the primary account holders.

The option to publish or not publish activity on the account could additionally be presented to the account administrator. Yet another option would be to not require sign-in.

Another issue with streaming services where multiple persons have log-in privileges is that each individual can randomly make changes to the account, when only an authorized administrator—typically the primary account holder and/or any other designees—should have that privilege…

Other profile holders should be capable of logging into the relevant streaming service utilizing their own email or other personal identifiers without the capability of making changes to the account, especially those that could affect billing…

This would preserve the privacy of the primary DirecTV or other cable account holder and curtail any costs that could potentially accrue from any unauthorized purchases or account changes. Creation of genuine businesses that exist in cinema is an untapped market that could translate to multi-billion dollar industries that would likely far exceed the success of similar traditional competitors. It would increase tourism of entities like CBS and other cinematic studios, specifically their stores, which should include real companies and/or products for those depicted in their productions. For example, there should be a real Forrester Creations, Spectra, Jabot Cosmetics, Newman Enterprises, etc., or the products of these entities should be included in the brick-and-mortar and online CBS stores.

Forrester Creations and Spectra should include actual clothing modeled during Forrester’s and Spectra’s Bold and Beautiful fashion shows. Jabot cosmetics and Newman Enterprises, etc. should include actual products for those discussed on the Young and the Restless, and CBS and other stores should carry those items and clothing per se that are worn/modeled by actors on popular soap operas and other CBS shows (Other networks could copy this). CBS and other networks that implement what I’m suggesting here would act as affiliate marketers for fashion designers who are represented by actors wearing their clothing during daytime and other televised programs. They could point viewers to the physical and online stores to purchase any clothing and extras seen on the programs.

Any designers could request that specific actors wear their clothing during any program and either give the offered garments to the actor(s) as an incentive and/or the network could charge fees to feature unsolicited clothing designs, etc.

Every actor, every person who wears clothing, jewelry, etc. represents or is promoting a designer, a televised personality all the more. Media networks and designers should mutually benefit from this. When you think of it, this is among the major marketing purposes that television should serve.

Clothing and accessories that are worn during televised productions should be modeled by the actors and actresses* on the CBS website. Designers’ names could optionally be listed in each show’s credits, and viewers should be instructed to visit the CBS store website and/or brick-and-mortar store and other specified stores to purchase the items. *Displays featuring these particular actors and actresses should too be placed in the noted brick-and-mortar stores…

The impact of promoting designers of clothing, jewelry, etc. worn during televised programs and products per se of cinematic businesses could reach exponential proportion in terms of increasing sales of promoted clothing, jewelry, fragrances, etc., and transform fictional entities into thriving products and corporations in the real world…

Automated School, etc. Wake-up Calls and Inspirational Message App

There should be an automated school, etc. wake-up call app that schools and/or parents and others can utilize to literally and metaphorically awaken and inspire students, etc. Schools and/or parents and others should be capable of setting specific songs for daily alarms and creating play lists of inspirational music that would continue to play while the receiver is getting dressed and/or until they shut it off. Schools and/or others could send wake-up/motivational (spoken) greetings in lieu of or in addition to music.

The noted app should be capable of sending music to a cell phone or any television with streaming services and a timer. Schools could send the same wake-up call to all students on whatever qualifying devices parents have specified, i.e. students’ personal cell phones or televisions.

Parents, schools, and/or local law enforcement could additionally send alarms and/or texts to the cell phones of minors notifying them of nearing curfew and the necessity to report to their residences by those specific times. Parents and schools could additionally utilize the noted app to send alarms to students notifying them of dinner, homework, bath, and bed time, et cetera…

The noted app should be programmed to ration alarms based upon reasonable periods of time to prepare for and arrive to school and/or other localities based upon indicated start times of specific schools and/or other events.

Social Accountability Census and Requirements

A census should be conducted to determine the social status of all persons, specifically if all persons in a household or in any other living arrangement have appropriate sources of income and other vital resources, and a database should be created that would retain this acquired information. Every person on the planet should be accounted for or acknowledged in this database by synonymous demographic information, photographs and/or fingerprints, and Social Security numbers, all of which would be created for those lacking them. A system of the sort would make it easier to count and acquire resources for those in need everywhere in the world; it would additionally identify which agencies are providing resources to each individual.

The said should precede a movement to place all persons in the world in safe and habitable residences, in traditional and/or career-oriented educational programs, and into jobs and/or businesses of their own.

…The database should be capable of exemplifying information of persons on an individual basis, by their households, and by the communities in which they reside. It could additionally retain genetic or DNA samples for all persons or at least for those who are interested in locating displaced family members, i.e. persons from developing nations and/or who have been separated from their families during conflicts like civil wars…

The noted should be a joint venture of the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Social Security Administration, and other synonymous agencies, and would pull from these sources to update information when necessary. Information for homeless persons would be reported to the prescribed database via homeless information management systems and other agencies that collect data on the homeless. Every individual would additionally be encouraged via email and/or correspondence that would be mailed via the United States Postal Service at least once per year to personally peruse their individual accounts and update the information when essential, or verify that automatically updated information is accurate.

Relevant agencies* would routinely monitor the database and/or the database would be designed to generate automated notices to those who do not have sufficient income and/or other vital resources; the notices would inform the subject individuals of available resources and where and how to apply for them, whether it’s education, employment, Social Security benefits, child care help, etc. *Representatives from relevant agencies would make live contact with those demonstrating need and help to connect said individuals with those resources that they are in need of.

…Though the census would be for all persons, it would really focus on unemployed adults and at-risk teens. All persons who are capable of working and who are not employed would be required to demonstrate that they are seeking employment (whether or not they’ve applied for unemployment benefits) and/or that they are enrolled or preparing to enroll in an educational program that would improve their employability…

The purpose of a social accountability census and social accountability requirements would be to at least and proactively improve the social/living conditions of all persons, and to at most nudge all persons into realizing their greatest potential or into becoming the very best versions of themselves. It would decrease commission or likelihood of commission of criminal acts via the prescribed interventions. Though the said would require an investment of federal and perhaps other funding, it would be just that, an investment that would yield a major return that would far exceed the investment once more or all persons are educated, and once all who are capable of working are working and once all persons are receiving some form of earnest income and contributing their fair share to self and global empowerment.

A Perpetual Crisis Intervention/Response System and Agency

There should be a perpetual crisis intervention/response system and agency that would be similar to though distinguishable from 911… that exists in all cities/states and intakes calls from the general public and intervenes to actually resolve crises that do not require EMS or law enforcement transports. The agency should additionally help to connect clients with stable resources, education, and employment, where essential. For example, the agency should deliver emergency groceries or grocery gift cards to needy households, pay for prescription medications that clients cannot afford, for transportation (transit or bus cards or gas), baby diapers and wipes, clothing, and essential furniture… The agency should additionally pay mortgages or rent and/or utilities in situations where clients are experiencing hardships due to loss of a job or a reduction in income, though clients should be required to enroll in an intensive employment search and/or enrichment program to curtail future need for the service.

Agency Shelters and Storage Facilities

The noted crisis intervention agency should have emergency shelters and storage facilities to house any and all homeless persons and any furniture and other belongings that they have.

The noted shelters should additionally have showers, kitchens and dining areas; and they should have computer labs where clients can perform employment searches, etc. They should additionally have ample parking space to accommodate homeless clients with cars.

A Homeless Hotline/Client Pick-up

The said agency should have a homeless hotline to which callers can be directed to request pick-up and transport to the agency’s emergency shelter. The agency should have recognizable vehicles or those bearing the agency’s name and logo that would retrieve homeless persons from the streets and from residences where they’ve been evicted or where there is insufficient space or any other social crisis in a relative’s or friend’s home where the individual is residing, particularly any crisis that is caused or exacerbated by the individual’s presence.

Clients without furniture and substantial belongings should be retrieved in agency cars. Clients with furniture should be retrieved in moving vans and/or trucks. The agencies should help clients to move/transport their furniture to the agency storage facilities where they would temporally reside until they get back onto feet. Any furniture left in storage areas after clients have left the program and/or after any periods by which they have agreed to retrieve it should be transferred to the site’s furniture store, which should sell the items to re-invest into the program and/or for disbursal to other exiting clients…

Emergency Childcare Facilities

A perpetual crisis intervention/response system and agency should additionally have emergency childcare facilities, both for shelter residents and qualifying members of the general public, or it should partner with such agencies.

Food Warehouses

A perpetual crisis intervention/response system should have its own food warehouses that would accept food and monetary donations. The noted warehouses would ideally be located at the Department of Human Services, to which the public could resort directly for emergency food.


A perpetual crisis intervention/response system and agency should have varied funders, including primarily private donors, i.e.  church and other corporate groups.

The said agency should collect said donations via a donation button on its website. Other funders should include federal and state governments, and employed clients, of course, who would be required to pay service fees based upon their income.

In Summation and Conclusion

A perpetual crisis intervention/response system and agency would alleviate and/or prevent escalation of crisis. It would additionally alleviate burdens on 911 and other emergency hotlines that typically require dispatching of EMS and/or law enforcement.
