SafeLink and Other Government-Issued Low Income Mobile Phones Should Issue Local Numbers

Safelink and all government-issued low income phones should issue local phone numbers to customers that are really based on the specific addresses/cities, states, and zip codes where they reside. Per Safelink/Tracfone, they do not offer phone numbers in the 901… area code, though they briefly issued me a number with a 901… area code that I changed after this particular number was “transferred to another device” that didn’t belong to me, without my permission.

The incident really perked my antennas—I reflected on a question that I was asked that I could not answer while completing my income tax return this year via Turbo Tax about a residence* on “Camp Ground Road,” where I have never resided.

(*Despite our recent move from 4050 Camelot Lane, Apt. #3 to a house several streets over, we are still in the same 38118 area code in Memphis, Tennessee). I further considered other matters that have prompted me to believe that I am a victim of identity theft, and thought of how attachment of the erroneous 662 area code to my Safelink phone could make matters worse…

Issuance of long distance area codes to Safelink and other government-issued low income mobile phones raises a number of issues; for one, it is a misrepresentation of information, and it heightens the potential for identity theft…

It can additionally and significantly increase long distance charges on clients’ residential phones, when family and/or others make calls to the Safelink or other government-issued mobile phones from their home phones.

This was my own personal experience—My children made a number of calls from our home phone to the Safelink phone that I had, and when we received our home phone bill it was inundated with costly charges for calls made to the Safelink phone that, according to the bill, was an Olive Branch, Mississippi number, noting that I’ve never resided in Olive Branch, Mississippi…

Attaching long distance phone numbers to Safelink and other government-issued low income mobile phones essentially defeats the purpose of the program, which is or should be to decrease the telephonic costs of qualifying participants.

All Students Should Be Using Khan Academy

I signed my son up for another round of ACT Prep at the University of Memphis to be certain that he’s prepared for the test, which will be administered at his school in the next few weeks.

When the success coaches announced requirement to sign up for practice on the Khan Academy website, my second-grade daughter, who was in attendance with us, took note and instantly signed herself up on her tablet.

She has completed several lessons in her grade and is making great progress on material that they’re not presently working on at her school. She loves it, clearly because it is technology-based and, perhaps, because of the visual and sound effects that it makes when she gets her answers right. For this I second my thumbs up and recommendation of this program.

Khan Academy is an excellent resource for students who are struggling in any particular area and/or who want to practice or familiarize themselves with new material for their current or forward grade levels and/or material in any previous grades that they might need to revisit.

I’m discussing my son’s progress in ACT Prep University and on Khan Academy in a future post. If you have school-age children, especially one who plans to take the ACT and/or SAT test, don’t hesitate to sign them up on Khan Academy for practice. It is maneuverable on a smart phone or tablet, and, best of all, it’s free!!!

How All Stores Can Really Profit from Digital Signage

Tags

, , ,

Some stores already make use of digital signage by advertising a few random products on sparse fixtures throughout select departments, and often the few advertised products are not within proximity of the actual products in the stores.

Sales of digital signage advertisements in stores is essentially an untapped market that can increase sales of products juxtapose earning stores magnanimous advertising revenues. Stores could sell advertisements on their digital signage to potentially each of the thousands of companies with products in their stores…

Digital signage, which should always be utilized within vicinity of advertised products, can be utilized to make consumers aware of the existence and/or presence of certain products in stores that are not readily seen; they should, most importantly, display the resourcefulness of exhibited products.

Digital signs should rotationally exhibit the advertisements and/or commercials for specific products. For customer convenience, they could and should also be programmed to exhibit the department, aisle, and/or section where an advertised product is located.

Major or oversized digital signs, which could be mounted near front entrances and/or the center points of stores, should sync with overhead store radios to randomly display advertisements of products from all departments between songs…

…Digital signs could display the names of recording artists and songs while specific songs are playing. This could increase sales of music, especially if the songs or albums on which the songs are featured are marketed at the stores. Those within areas other than entertainment departments would only display products on relevant or sections of relevant counters…

Digital signage would generate substantial revenues that would empower stores to expand/provide more employment opportunities and/or increase wages and philanthropic endeavors.

Prosecuting Medical Murders and Attempts

What are in many instances preventable medical “mistakes” claim more lives than violence each year, and there is sound reason to believe that not all and perhaps many are not mistakes. Not to badger the doctors who have made innocent mistakes, it is unfathomable, however, that there are so many.

What if this is a method of population control and/or what if doctors are following orders, with or without incentives, from prominent local or other officials to carry out what are in many instances revenge murders, domestic violence, and/or hate crimes, etc…

This, of course, would reduce the doctors carrying out the orders to criminals who should have the same fate as any others, even if they were following orders from superiors or external power players, who should additionally be prosecuted for any roles that they have played in the ordeals…

People should be safe in a medical facility, of all places. Doctors have a responsibility to save lives, not to destroy them. They should protect the vulnerable, and never give ear or obedience to the lawless. They should uphold the Hippocratic Oath while refraining from hypocrisy…

All Cell Phones, Tablets, and Computer Screens Should be Shatterproof

Tags

, ,

After my children cracked the screens in my laptop, two tablets, and my son’s cell phone, I, like many other smart device owners, I’m certain, realize the need for them all to be shatter proof. All tablets, cell phones, and computer screens should be shatterproof, or they should be purchasable with installed screen protectors that shield them from cracks and scratches, etc. Many smart device owners are not aware that screen protectors can be separately purchased and installed on their phones and/or other devices. Accordingly, they do not know to request them when purchasing phones, tablets, laptops, et cetera; and they’re usually not offered during any suggestive selling marketing tactics…

Making all cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc. shatterproof or pre-installing screen protectors into them would enable brands to automatically include the cost of the protectors; and they could inform their customers that they’d be capable of purchasing additional protectors to replace pre-installed protectors if they and others are ever damaged…

Making all smart devices shatterproof would save customers costs of replacing an entire phone or other smart device in the event that they incur significant damage; it would too save smart device manufacturers costs of replacing phones that are insured by preventing most potential damage, while further increasing revenues via incremental marketing of the protective element…

Hybrid/Blended Learning Models Could Remedy Attendance, Academic, and Behavioral Issues in Schools

Tags

, , ,

Hybrid/blended learning models could remedy attendance, academic, and behavioral issues, including bullying, in schools (elementary, middle, and high schools and colleges). Hybrid learning refers to online and traditional brick-and-mortar instruction, or a blend of the two. Better yet, it is essentially what we’ve meant by “personalized learning.” The name could additionally reflect the environmental friendliness of certain hybrid learning models—students are allowed to attend classes at brick-and-mortar schools from the convenience of their homes utilizing school-issued computers and mobile hotspots, presumably, thus reducing carbon emissions where vehicles utilized to transport students to and from school do not require utilization for this purpose on designated days that students would attend online.

This learning model differs from traditional online learning in that there is a brick-and-mortar school element. The great thing about hybrid/blended learning is that students are capable of meeting at their brick and mortar schools for science labs, physical education, and other projects, etc., and school meals, of course.

There are varied models of blended learning.

Hybrid/blended learning would enable students to attend school (remotely) when certain circumstances would not otherwise allow them to report to campus. It would be a wonderful method of separating bullied students from their harassers, though bullies should be formally addressed whether or not a hybrid learning model exists at any particular school.

Hybrid learners enjoy a bit of extra time at home juxtapose the opportunity to meet in person and socialize with instructors and classmates throughout the school week, which helps to promote balance in physical and emotional health.

Child Marriage Should Be Universally Banned/Prosecuted

Tags

Child marriage should be universally banned and prosecuted. Every child should be granted the opportunity to enjoy childhood, to be properly educated, and to arrive at adulthood and personally decide when and who they’ll marry, if they decide to marry at all.

No adults anywhere on the planet should be having sexual relations with or in many cases raping children, without or with a marriage license; anyone, without or with a marriage license, who has sexual relations with or who rapes children should be prosecuted as pedophiles.

An adult who impregnates a child should be prosecuted, especially an adult who is significantly older than the child. Raids should be conducted based upon public records and other sources evidencing the marriages. Children should be removed from habitation with their exploiters, and any existent marriage license between an adult and a child anywhere in the world should be null and void…

The only exceptions to a ban on child marriage should be a prospective marriage between teens of the opposite sex who mutually love one another and/or have children together and their parents agree to the marriage, presuming they (the teens) are responsible enough or the parents of the teens are prepared to provide them financial and/or other support…

All forms of Human Trafficking Should Be Universally Banned and Prosecuted

Human trafficking should be universally banned and prosecuted. No one should be permitted to demoralize other persons in this or in any other way. Global raids/rescue initiatives should be enforced that would send every victim to a safe haven and every culprit to their local prison, where all should be appropriately educated or reformed and connected with merited employment and/or business opportunities once they have completed their respective educational and/or correctional programs…

Every brothel or business used to facilitate prostitution of or forced labor from children or adults should be closed and/or seized, and, in many instances, literally destroyed. All persons who are capable of working should be required to acquire ethical employment and/or take the necessary steps to get better ethical jobs, or those that pay great wages or the level of wages that they desire.

…The only sex shops that should exist are those that sell and/or rent sex dolls,* NOT human beings. This does not mean that human beings who are not considered human should be sold or rented, ONLY items that are actually intimate toys or massagers, which are recognized to actually have health benefits (*There are sex dolls that look and feel very realistic—do a Google search. I’m not linking to any of them)…

The prescribed would preserve the dignity and respect of prospective culprits and victims. Slavery in the world should be declared officially over, and it really should be over.

Standardized and Other Tests Should Be Scheduled Around Inclement Weather

The weather should always be taken into consideration when scheduling standardized and other major tests. Even when the said tests and course work are scheduled months in advance, weather checks should be conducted at least a week prior, to make certain that those particular dates do not fall on days of inclement weather. Standardized and other major tests and course work that comprise a substantial percentage of students’ grades or testing prep should never be scheduled for administering during inclement weather, when many students might have challenges attending, and/or might not have sufficient time to complete portions of tests given prior to their arrival. Care should be taken to curtail any and all obstacles that can prevent students from reporting to school and optimally performing on standardized and other major tests and course work, including obstacles created by acts of nature…

American College Tests (ACT) Should Be Sufficiently Timed

I took the ACT test and scored good enough to get into college and graduate with my first degree. A good enough score can guarantee great scholarships juxtapose those like the $10,000 I was awarded for winning grand prize in an essay contest my senior year in high school, etc…

Giving students sufficient time on the ACT would help all to perform their very best and increase their likelihood of receiving scholarships and attending and, hopefully, graduating from college. This is very important because of the lack of qualified workers for jobs requiring specialized skills and/or credentials, those jobs that pay sufficient wages that adults with real bills need and should have…

Over 900 colleges do not require an ACT or SAT score, which is logical because collegiate matriculation exams exemplify to students’ choice colleges where they are academically. Success on the ACT and SAT can create greater opportunities for students, however, including invitations from prospectively varied colleges in addition to synonymous scholarship offers.

Giving students sufficient time on the ACT and SAT and on any test is only fair and appropriate furthermore. Helping every citizen become the very best version of themselves should be of the most pressing role of governments; making particularly higher education more tangible for the average person is the very best way to accomplish this…
